"Look" at Your Entire Business Through Legal Marketing Lenses

Before we get too far along, let's define what law firm marketing is. My favorite definition of marketing comes from the classic book Marketing Your Services by Anthony O. Putman, who writes the following:

"Marketing is a set of lenses you use to look
at your business – your entire business."

Here Anthony is saying marketing is a "perspective" or a way of viewing your business as opposed to being something you do, or a set of tasks or functions you do in your business. In that sense he is talking about your thoughts and beliefs, since this is what makes up your "lenses."

If you have the

  • right thoughts and beliefs

  • commitment

  • motivation

  • accountability
